Become a student volunteer for the Congress of the Swiss Sociological Society
The Congress of the Swiss Sociological Society will be held from June 28 to 30, 2021 under the theme Social justice in times of uncertainty. The congress is organized by the UNIGE and the HETS with the support of IHEID.
This year, the conference will be held entirely online and we are seeking student volunteers. A platform will be set up, and the sessions will be organized via Zoom. We would want student volunteers to ensure that the congress takes place in the best possible conditions.
Why become a volunteer?
In return for your commitment, you will have access to the entire congress without registration fees. This can be an opportunity for students to discover sociological research in Switzerland and internationally, as many themes will be covered.
What are the recruitment criteria?
It is expected that student volunteers have a good command of the English language. We will also be recruiting on a first come first serve basis, with 20 available slots. You must also be a registered student in sociology, or a recent graduate. (To be adapted for IHEID and HETS).
What will your missions be?
The main task will be to be present in the Zoom rooms (the Zoom sessions will be divided between the different volunteers), to ensure a quick reaction in case of issues and to liaise with the technical support in case of problems. You will also be responsible for monitoring the chat room. You will be supervised and will receive training before the conference to familiarize yourself with these tasks.
